Held before Bury FC’s final home game of the season against Witton Albion, the activation invited supporters to guess the weight of a crushed Vauxhall Zafira for the chance to win a selection of exclusive Bury FC prizes.
Autosave is celebrating the success of its latest community partnership after hundreds of Bury FC supporters took part in the company’s “Guess the Weight” competition at Gigg Lane.
Held before Bury FC’s final home game of the season against Witton Albion, the activation invited supporters to guess the weight of a crushed Vauxhall Zafira for the chance to win a selection of exclusive Bury FC prizes.
The event proved hugely popular, with fans visiting the Autosave stand throughout the afternoon to enter the competition, meet the team and enjoy free face painting for younger supporters.
The challenge was simple, but far from easy. The crushed Vauxhall Zafira weighed 991kg, with supporters submitting hundreds of guesses throughout the day.
A Worthy Winner
The competition’s top prize of two Bury FC 2026/27 season tickets was won by Russell McNamara, whose guess of 990kg was just one kilogram away from the correct answer.
Following the competition, Autosave welcomed Russell back to Gigg Lane to officially present him with his prize, creating a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the success of the event and the partnership with Bury FC.
Speaking after collecting his prize, Russell said:
“I couldn’t believe it when I got the call to say I’d won. It was a brilliant competition, and I’m absolutely delighted to have won the season tickets. A huge thank you to Autosave and Bury FC. I’ll definitely be making the most of them next season!”
Five supporters also won a Bury FC 2026/27 away replica shirt as runner-up prizes.
